That lovable prankster and joker, Mercury, turns retrograde on July 15.
If you are planning any travel around this time, allow extra time to get
to your destination. It is not until Aug 8 that the planet ruling
communications, commerce and travel returns to forward motion and clears
up all the chaos a retro period inevitably produces.
And with Uranus, also intimately connected to computer systems and
communications, including the internet, also turning retrograde on July
13 until mid December, the potential for upsets in your own computer
system, or those you rely on, such as your bank's, are liable to upsets,
bugs, viruses, trojans and all the cyber warfare paraphanalia we are
beginning to encounter in the digital age.
At the very least back up important files, keep copies on CD's of vital
data, have a plan B should disaster strike your computer system, it is
all too easy to forget how dependent on computers we have now become.
July 3 sees a full moon in Capricorn, conjunct transforming and
revitalizing Pluto, this is not a period for overdoing emotional
reactions to events, they will be intense enough without the need to
become the drama queen for the day, tempting though that may seem for
some.
Hopefully you can use the full range of emotional expression at this
time to clear out superfluous and redundant feelings about an issue that
has bugged you in the past.
The slate can be swept clean now and once purged you can move on, as you
must, the universe is predicated on evolution and movement, not on
standing still.
The planet that sets things in motion, Mars, full of energy, self belief
and conviction, has now moved into Libra, until mid August,
which bodes well for getting out of the doldrums in which it seemed set
during a long 7-month residency in Virgo.
You can now leave behind the time consuming details that seemed so
important to you back then.
Take some action on and start progressing your more glamorous and
dynamic plans, for Libra is the sign of the strategist and general, this
is a good time to take some positive steps on your plans for the summer
and beyond.
We have just passed the summer solstice, the most creative time of the
year (in the northern hemisphere anyway, southern hemisphere readers
need to wait till late December for their peak time).
With Mercury in Leo this is a time when the joys of life and travel,
of expressing the feelings in fun loving ways, are favored. You can
afford to play and take time out, it is permissible to take a less than
puritanical view of what you can and cannot do.
The serious business of living will return soon enough, after all there
is a general election coming up in the USA which takes place on the very
day Mercury next turns retrograde, this does not bode well for a clear
cut and early decision on the people's will, in fact the confusion that
could ensue may make the hanging chads of Florida seem like a minor
blip.
But that is after you have had a great summer, if you are hoisting the
flag high on the 4th of July, have a good one.
